This free version of the wine quiz is a representative extract of the application The wine quiz and offers 101 quiz questions from 8 different specialist areas in a colorful mix.

The original with the designation The wine quiz from the Edition Egon Mark already appears in the 4th edition. According to the book and CD, the application is a contemporary form for "learn wine with fun".

The "big" quiz contains more than 1,350 questions with 4 answer options and a detailed explanation or justification for the correct answers. The quiz questions are divided into 8 specialist areas: General, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Spain & Portugal, International and Wine History.

After selecting the category (or categories) and number of questions, these are displayed according to the random principle from the question pool with the four answer options. These answers are also arranged by accident. After answering every question, the user is reported whether this was answered correctly or incorrectly. An explanatory text with the information about the correct answer is available for every question. After going through the desired number of questions, an evaluation is displayed and there is also the option of sending a detailed evaluation by email (Internet connection required).

The author Egon Mark is a graduate sommelier and wine academic with WSET diploma. For many years he was a coach and examiner for sommelier training in Austria. Some very successful participation in sommelier competitions, among other things, brought him the title "Falstaff Sommelier of 1992/93" and as an Austrian winner in the SOPEXA competition in 1994, the "Austria's best sommelier for French wines and spirits" award.
