Farm to Fashion an aim of “Scaling Heights to design “Vision 2035”
India's textile and apparel sector is one of the oldest industries in Indian economy dating back several centuries. Even today, textiles sector is one of the largest contributors to India's exports with approximately 13 per cent of total exports. The textiles industry is labor intensive and is the second largest employer in India, after Agriculture, employing about 52 million people directly and 68 million people indirectly.
The “Farm to Fashion, Indian Textile Global Summit” is an initiative to provide a platform for the entire textile value chain to deliberate and develop a vision for Textile Industry for the year 2035 with key focus on issues faced by Cotton Farmers, Women Empowerment, Youth employment opportunities and position Indian Textile Industry as pioneer in Environment friendly industry practices. The Summit aims to represent thechallenges of the Textile Industry as “One Nation, One Voice”
The Summit is a three-day event scheduled on 4th-6th May 2018 encompassing Technical Conferences, Key-Note speakers, Trade Exhibition, Coffee Corners with Experts, Fashion Show and Industrial visit for delegates and dignitaries.
The Summit shall encompass the entire value chain of the Textile Industry, viz. cotton, ginning, spinning, weaving, processing, garment and apparels, technical textiles. It shall involve people who are the change agents in their organization and have achieved breakthrough improvements to enhance the operational business performance by adopting Best Practices.This Summit is an initiative to uplift and scale-up the presence of Indian Textiles in the global marketplace, with innovation and excellence.
